As you know Easter is early this year and I’ve got a range of beautiful handmade Easter eggs available to order as a present to yourself or someone else special. Last Autumn I made delicious peanut praline chocolates for a stall I had at the Combat Stress charity fair, and I thought this would make the perfect filling for my mini eggs. I have decorated them in the same way with splashes of yellow cocoa butter. My inspiration for this was Jackson Pollock, an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was well known for his unique style of drip painting, here’s an example of one of his paintings https://www.jackson-pollock.org/number-1.jsp. I love the look of these and so I decided to decorate my larger milk and white chocolate eggs in this style too. For a touch of glamour and sophistication, because we all deserve a treat, I’m using 34 carat gold leaf for my 70% dark chocolate egg (I love dark chocolate so this is my personal favourite!). Each egg is freshly made to order, so there’s none of that sitting on the shelves for the last 6 months like the mass produced chocolate that you find on supermarket shelves. I am sure you will notice how fresh they taste, which will make it harder to go back to back to the mass produced stuff. Thanks for reading and I wish you all a happy Easter and lots of yummy chocolate!
